Atlético Madrid unveil Player of the Month for August | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Thursday unveiled the latest recipient of the club’s Player of the Month prize.

The triumphant member of Diego Simeone’s squad? Marcos Llorente.

Versatile defender, midfielder Llorente is for his part in the midst of a fine opening to the new campaign.

The 29-year-old has featured in all six of Atlético Madrid’s La Liga fixtures, four of which came across the month of August.

Not only that, but Llorente managed to chip in with a pair of goals and an assist along the way, proving himself a central figure in a credible 2-2 draw at Villarreal, and a 3-0 drubbing of Girona.

And, as alluded to above, such efforts on the part of the Spaniard did not go at all unappreciated on the part of those of an Atléti persuasion.

As per an announcement across the website and social media platforms of the Rojiblancos on Thursday afternoon, in fact, Llorente has been named the club’s standout performer for August.
