As the season nears its end, Barcelona are facing some concerns with regard to the contract situations of some of the younger players at the academy.
Barcelona have made little progress in securing extensions for some of the talents whose current contracts expire at the end of the season.
While the Catalans activated a two-year contract extension for Jan Virgili, other cases remain in limbo, including those of Arnau Pradas, Hugo Alba, Tommy Marques, and Brian Farinas.
Now, according to SPORT, Farinas, one of the closest friends of Lamine Yamal at La Masia, is set to become a free agent on 30 June. He has already received several attractive offers from both domestic and international clubs.
At this point, it appears likely that he will leave, especially as the Blaugrana have yet to make an offer for him to stay.
While there is still time for the situation to change, Farinas is open to a move once his contract expires.
Farinas is a key part of Juliano Belletti’s Juvenil A team, who are in a strong position to win the Division de Honor, having already secured the Copa del Rey Juvenil while also being in the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League.
The 19-year-old also has made seven appearances for Barça Atletic, who are facing the threat of relegation from the Primera RFEF Division.
For now, the talented midfielder remains focused on his team’s success. With Juvenil A on the brink of another major title, his immediate priority is helping the squad finish this historic season on a high note.
