For a top club like FC Barcelona, it is vitally important to have a strong coach leading the team. Over the course of the last few years, La Blaugrana have had inconsistent luck in that particular regard. Fortunately, however, it now seems that Barcelona have finally found the ideal candidate for them.

Hansi Flick, formerly the head coach of FC Bayern Munich and the German National team, arrived at Barcelona ahead of this season to take over as the team’s new manager. He succeeded Xavi Hernandez, who even met with the German coach following his appointment, and has taken his original project to unprecedented heights.

Across every major competition this season, Flick’s team has looked like one of the toughest sides to beat in Europe. The record in 2025 speaks for itself, with Barcelona having lost just once in the entirety of this year so far and that has gone a long way in establishing them as title contenders in each major competition.

However, if there is one particular statistic that sets apart Hansi Flick as a truly elite coach, it is his record when it comes to finals. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the German coach has never lost a cup final while being the head coach of a team.

So far in his managerial career, he has managed to take Bayern Munich to five finals and has taken Barça to one as well. In each and every single one of those six games, his side has prevailed and he has managed to showcase his tactical expertise as he almost always made the right decisions.

With the Bavarian side from the Bundesliga, Flick has managed to win a UEFA Champions League final, the DFB Pokal, the German Super Cup final, the UEFA Super Cup final, and the FIFA Club World Cup final. That already showcased what kind of a mastermind he was, but he continued the trend with Barcelona.

Taking the team to a Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, the German coach enabled his team to win by thrashing their El Clasico rivals with a 5-2 score-line. Hopefully, that was the first of many as Barcelona are now set to play Los Blancos in the final of the Copa del Rey.

Interestingly, he also played a major role in the 2014 FIFA World Cup as an assistant coach within the German National team set-up. Ultimately, the current Barcelona coach helped his country win the tournament that was taking place in Brazil back then with a win over Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final.
