Barcelona fans are on edge as the club desperately tries to register new summer signings Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

Thanks to a fresh economic lever, the club have returned to the 1:1 rule. But they are not in a position to re-register Olmo and Victor, whose temporary registrations expired on December 31.

La Liga and RFEF have recently issued a joint statement, confirming that they cannot reissue a license to a player in the same season if the prior license has been cancelled.

Olmo and Victor frustrated with Barcelona

The lengthy saga over the registration of Olmo and Victor has left both Olmo and Victor frustrated and unsatisfied at Barcelona, reports Cadena SER.

While both players have maintained calm throughout the entire saga they are feeling a bit let down now, as promises that were made to them earlier in the season are not being fulfilled.

Indeed, the Catalans had assured both players that they would be officially registered before the December 31 deadline. But that did not happen.

What’s next?

With La Liga and RFEF offering no support, Barcelona have no option but to approach the Higher Council of Sports (CSD).

CSD is the highest sporting body set up by the Spanish government and will be in a position to initiate a mandate against RFEF and La Liga’s orders.

Barcelona are, in fact, quite confident about receiving a green light from the CSD next week and are hopeful about registering Olmo and Victor before the Supercup matches in Saudi Arabia.
