Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that Como were keen on signing Barcelona youngster Alex Valle on loan for the second half of the season.

The 20-year-old is already out on loan at Celtic and has done very well at Parkhead. But with the Scottish giants angling to re-sign Kieran Tierney, Valle’s situation has changed.

Building on those initial reports, MARCA now reports that Barcelona have now given the green light for Alex Valle to move to Como on loan.

As such, the La Masia full-back is now on the verge of securing a loan move to the Serie A club, coached by former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The switch now hinges on Arsenal’s Tierney returning to Celtic, with the Scottish club expected to finalise the deal soon.

Barcelona are already aware of this potential development and have approved the move. The club’s sporting department supports Valle’s loan to Como, believing it will provide a highly favourable environment for the player.

However, the Catalan club have specified that the loan will only last six months, as head coach Hansi Flick wants the young left-back to participate in the first team’s pre-season preparations for the next campaign.

Last season, Valle impressed during a loan spell at Levante, performing at a high level. This earned him a place in Barcelona’s pre-season squad, where he delivered solid performances.

Despite this, both the player and the club decided it would be better for him to go on loan to gain more playing time, with Alejandro Balde firmly established as Barcelona’s starting left-back.

Before his loan to Celtic, Valle extended his contract with Barcelona for an additional year. His current deal now runs until June 2026.
