The suspension of the Barcelona-Osasuna match due to the tragic passing of Barcelona’s first-team doctor, Carles Minarro, has sent shockwaves across Barcelona.
The club president and players have sent out heartfelt messages and condolences following the passing of Minarro, who had joined Barcelona in 2017.
La Liga and Osasuna, too, have supported Barcelona during these tough times and have lent full support. La Liga, in fact, has taken up the challenge of rescheduling Barcelona’s game against Osasuna at a later date.
But at this stage of the season, Barcelona are still competing on multiple fronts—LaLiga, the Champions League, and the Copa del Rey—leaving very few open dates for the fixture to be rescheduled.
Adding to the complexity is the upcoming international break for the Nations League at the end of March, further limiting the available slots. With Barcelona’s packed calendar, finding a new date is proving to be a difficult task, reports Diario AS.

If Barcelona continue their run in all competitions, the only viable date to play the Osasuna fixture would be Wednesday, May 21.
This is the only midweek slot available in Barcelona’s calendar, falling between their Matchday 37 clash against Villarreal and their final league fixture against Athletic Club on May 25.
While not an ideal scenario, this date would allow the match to be played without interfering with other commitments, ensuring that Barça completes their league campaign in time.
Barcelona’s fate in Europe and the Copa del Rey could open up alternative dates. If Benfica eliminates them from the Champions League on Tuesday, April 16, or if Atletico Madrid knocks them out of the Copa del Rey, then April 26 would become an available option.
For now, Barcelona and LaLiga will wait to see how things unfold in the coming weeks before making a final decision on when the match can be played.
