Barcelona star closes on Mo Salah: The race for the European Golden Boot | OneFootball

A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona closed the gap atop the European Golden Boot standings this past weekend.

The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.

Frontman Lewandowski of course proved himself the star of the show on Sunday, as Barcelona made short work of Catalan rivals Girona in a league clash.

En route to an eventual 4-1 triumph, the Polish international notched a fine brace.

As much took Lewandowski’s tally for the campaign to 25 goals.

He has therefore opened up a three-goal advantage over closest challenger Kylian Mbappé in the race for the Pichichi prize in Spain’s top-flight.

Where, though, does Lewandowski sit in the Golden Boot standings?

Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah continues to lead the way on 27 goals, but Barca’s veteran striker is now just two goals back, in 2nd.
