Barcelona star confirms his dream is to retire at the club | OneFootball

Barcelona star Gavi has this week revealed his hopes of bringing a close to his playing days in the colours of the Blaugrana.

Midfielder Gavi, for his part, has spent the last 10 years plying his trade on the books of Barcelona.

After linking up with the Blaugrana at the age of 11 following two years with Real Betis, the Spanish international quickly set about establishing himself as one of the standout talents at La Masia.

As much culminated in Gavi working his way up through the youth ranks in Catalunya’s capital, before finally making his senior bow early in the 2021/22 campaign.

And, a major setback in the form of an ACL injury in late 2023 aside, the 20-year-old has since only gone from strength to strength.

Something of a fan favourite owing to his never-say-die attitude on the pitch, all associated with Barca will in turn no doubt be delighted to hear of Gavi’s plans for the future.

Drawn on his long-term plans at the Camp Nou during an exchange with the media on Tuesday, the midfield starlet confirmed:

“Of course I would like to retire at Barça, but you never know. Football is like that, many injuries and many things, but if it were up to me, I would sign it, I would retire here at Barça.”
