Barcelona star ‘signs’ off on a Champions League final vs Real Madrid | OneFootball

Barcelona star Ronald Araújo has on Thursday revealed his excitement with the prospect of a potential Champions League final showdown with Real Madrid.

An El Clásico clash on the grandest stage of European football is of course a real possibility this season.

This comes after arch rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid were placed on opposite sides of the newly-formatted Champions League draw.

Considered two of the favourites to go all the way in the competition, the Spanish giants could in turn meet in the continental showpiece for the first time ever.

And one individual who would jump at the opportunity to play his part in such a matchup comes in the form of the aforementioned Ronald Araújo.

Speaking during an interview with Diario Sport this week, defender Araújo was drawn on the prospect of a Clásico Champions League finale.

And the Uruguayan went on to respond:

“Of course I sign a final against Madrid! As long as we are there, that’s it. It would be a nice game. We have to do our part. The Champions League is very competitive and in these phases there are no easy opponents. It’s two games, it depends on how you enter the game… there are many things. We believe we can do it and hopefully we can reach the final. It would be something tremendous, but we go game by game, which is what the coach tells us. This team can beat anyone, but this is football and a thousand things can happen.”
