Barcelona star Alejandro Balde was forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Las Palmas, amid altogether concerning scenes.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action in Catalunya’s capital.

In search of a first league win in three, Barcelona have welcomed the aforementioned Las Palmas to Montjuïc.

As of yet, neither side has managed an all-important breakthrough, amid a hotly-contested first-half to date.

The lead talking point has therefore come in the form of a fresh personnel blow for Barcelona.

After colliding with former Blaugrana talent Sandro Ramírez just beyond the 20-minute mark this afternoon, Alejandro Balde immediately went to ground, in evident distress.

The tv cameras in attendance at Montjuïc made clear the fact that defender Balde was struggling badly with a problem in his neck area, looking as though he was close to vomiting.

After the hosts’ medical team attempted to guide the youngster off the pitch on foot, Balde collapsed back to the turf, culminating in a stretcher being brought onto the field of play.

From here, the Spanish international was carried directly down the tunnel, amid alarming scenes for all of a Barcelona persuasion.

An update on his wellbeing is expected in short order.
