La Liga giants Barcelona are hopeful of Dani Olmo returning to fitness in time to play an ‘important’ role in the club’s Champions League return leg meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Midfielder Olmo has of course spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines.
This comes owing to a muscular injury suffered in Barcelona’s post-international break return to action against Osasuna.
The initial prognosis pointed towards an incoming spell of around three weeks on the sidelines for the Spanish international.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then Olmo could yet be back available for selection sooner.
As per AS:
‘Barcelona have confidence that he’ll be back in the squad starting Thursday and able to get playing time in Leganés and be an important part of the second leg of the (Champions League) quarter-finals in Germany.’
