Ferran Torres is enjoying one of his best spells in a Barcelona shirt, and it now looks like his recent performances have convinced manager Hansi Flick to reward him with a place in the starting XI.
According to MARCA, Torres is expected to start against Real Betis tonight — a deserved opportunity after a string of impressive showings.
The 25-year-old forward has been in exceptional form this calendar year, making a strong case as one of the most reliable attacking options not just in La Liga but across all major European leagues.
With 11 goals to his name in all competitions so far in 2025, he currently leads the list of Spanish goal scorers across Europe. This achievement is even more impressive given that he has not been a regular starter for Barcelona.
Despite having to share minutes with top-tier attackers like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, Torres has managed to make a notable impact whenever called upon.

His work ethic and clinical finishing have stood out, especially in crucial moments. The recent Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid is a perfect example, where his goal secured Barcelona’s place in the final.
What truly highlights Torres’ effectiveness is his goals-per-minute ratio. With a goal every 80 minutes, he surpasses the output of all his fellow forwards. Neither Lewandowski, Raphinha, nor Yamal are currently matching his scoring efficiency.
During the team’s training sessions ahead of the Betis clash, Flick tested a forward line featuring Yamal on the right, Torres on the left, and Lewandowski in the centre.
This attacking trio offers a blend of speed, creativity, and finishing ability. It also signals Flick’s trust in Torres to deliver again, especially when points are crucial.
If the current setup holds, Torres could be poised to make a significant impact against Real Betis.
His versatility and sharpness in front of the goal continue to be an asset for Barcelona, and tonight’s match might be yet another stage for him to prove why he deserves a more regular starting role in the team.
