La Liga giants Barcelona could be the beneficiaries of an impending transfer between La Liga rivals Celta Vigo, and RB Leipzig.
That’s according to transfer insider Miguel Rico of Relevo, who points towards Óscar Mingueza as the player at the heart of the operation.
Defender Mingueza has enjoyed a remarkable opening to the campaign on the books of Celta Vigo, with two goals and five assists to his name to date.
So impressive has the 25-year-old looked, in fact, that he has even been included in Spain boss Luis de la Fuente’s most recent squad lists.
And such exploits have not gone at all unnoticed across the continent.
So much so that, as per the aforementioned Miguel Rico, Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are giving serious consideration to tabling an offer for Mingueza’s signature.
The bid in question would be expected to come in around the €20 million mark.
And, in the case of as much being accepted, Celta Vigo would not be the only ones in line to benefit from a financial standpoint.
As part of the deal which saw Mingueza make the move to Balaídos, Barcelona secured a 50% sell-on clause.
This would mean a significant cash injection, in the region of €10 million, coming the way of the Blaugrana for their former defender.
