Bayern Munich welcome Inter to the Allianz Arena for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.
This blockbuster affair is a repeat of the 2010 final, when Diego Milito struck twice for Jose Mourinho's treble winners to down Louis van Gaal's Die Roten at the Santiago Bernabeu. The two grand institutions have met infrequently since, with Bayern most recently getting the better of the Nerazzurri twice during the 2022/23 group stage.
A satisfying victory over domestic rivals Bayer Leverkusen saw Vincent Kompany's side into the last eight, while Inter eased past Feyenoord after excelling in the league phase. They were beaten finalists two years ago and have blossomed into a stellar cup team under Simone Inzaghi's watch.
Inter are also on course to retain the Serie A title, but Antonio Conte's Napoli will fight them tooth and nail down the stretch, especially after Parma took two points off them on Saturday. Bayern, meanwhile, took another step towards regaining their Bundesliga crown by beating Augsburg 3-1 on Friday night.
Here's 90min's guide to Tuesday's first leg in Munich.

Thomas Muller's set to depart Bayern at the end of the season, but the wily German looks poised to play a big role down the stretch due to the hamstring injury Jamal Musiala sustained at Augsburg. The in-form playmaker could be out for the remainder of 2024/25.
The hosts recently lost Alphonso Davies to an ACL tear, and are also without Aleksandar Pavlovic due to illness. Eric Dier will retain his place in defence due to Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito's absences.
Kingsley Coman and Manuel Neuer are doubts, with the latter unlikely to play on Tuesday. Young Jonas Urbig will deputise for the stalwart goalkeeper if Neuer isn't deemed fit.
Bayern predicted lineup vs Inter (4-2-3-1): Urbig; Laimer, Kim, Dier, Guerreiro; Kimmich, Goretzka; Olise, Muller, Sane; Kane.

Simone Inzaghi opted against heavy rotation at the weekend, and we should see a similar Inter lineup in Munich from their 2-2 draw at Parma.
Midfielder Kristjan Asslani is suspended, while marauding wing-back Denzel Dumfries is nursing a muscle injury. Piotr Zielinksi and Mehdi Taremi are also likely to miss out for the visitors.
Nicolo Barella will return to Inter's midfield after missing Saturday's draw, and Benjamin Pavard should line up against his former club.
Inter predicted lineup vs Bayern (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Thuram.
Injuries are starting to hit Bayern hard, with the likely absences of Neuer, Musiala, Upamecano, and Davies great hinderances to their Champions League chances.
The hosts were brilliant in the round of 16 against Leverkusen, but they have their work cut out if they're to bypass this Inter side. While the Nerazzurri perhaps aren't as impressive as they were last season, they're ever so tricky to face in knockout competition.
Both teams boast the heritage, and this tie is bound to be decided by the finest of margins. It certainly won't be opened up on Tuesday night.
