Hatem Ben Arfa, former French international and PSG player, has won a partial victory in his legal battle against Paris Saint-Germain. The Paris Court of Appeal found PSG guilty of moral harassment and unpaid bills towards the player and ordered the club to pay the OL academy product just over 100,000 euros in compensation. Ben Arfa had been excluded from the PSG first team for over a year following an offensive remark he made to the Emir of Qatar, which angered PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
Ben Arfa claimed that he could have received performance bonuses if he had not been sidelined, and sought more than seven million euros in damages. To his dismay, the court did not agree. Outside winning the case, Ben Arfa remains without a club since leaving LOSC. His last match was in April 2022, when he played ten minutes against Bordeaux. During his time with PSG, Ben Arfa played only 32 games in all competitions, scoring four goals and making seven assists.
