Best performing players in Serie A Round 19: Saelemaekers and David Neres praise

David Neres was among the standout performers in Serie A during the 19th round of fixtures over the weekend, starring in a 3-0 win for Napoli against high-flying Fiorentina, while Alexis Saelemaekers also earned praise for his role in Roma’s 2-0 Derby della Capitale win over Lazio on Sunday night.

Here are the best performing players in Serie A from the 19th round of fixtures.

There was a reduced set of fixtures in Serie A over the weekend, as Milan, Inter, Juventus and Atalanta were all away in Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana, the final of which takes place on Monday.

Napoli and Roma had more players included in Serie A’s best performers this weekend than any other team in the division, given their impressive wins over tough opposition.

Along with David Neres, Amir Rrahmani, Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku all earned average ratings of 7/10 from the Italian press.

It was a similar situation for Roma, whose standout players were Alexis Saelemaekers and Evan Ndicka, but Gianluca Mancini, Mats Hummels and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini also earned individual praise.
