The Chelsea decision makers are looking for a striker who is ‘better’ than Nicolas Jackson, a key Chelsea source has revealed this week.
The news comes off the back of Chelsea only managing to draw 2-2 at home with Ipswich Town on Sunday, a team who are destined to be in the Championship again next season.
One BBC pundit has pinned the blame on the players for the draw on Sunday, saying that they have to take a long hard look at themselves after that poor performance.
And head coach Enzo Maresca has also picked out two of his players for making some mistakes in the game which he believes was not good enough and cost them.
Overall though it was so poor, and blame really must be shared between the head coach, the manager, and those who have built an unbalanced squad at Chelsea that severely lacks quality experience and balance.
As we are all well aware of by now, Chelsea are looking to sign a new striker this summer when the next transfer window opens, and they have a host of names they are being linked with.

A top Chelsea source, Simon Phillips, has revealed this week what kind of new striker the club want to bring in this summer.
He writes in his latest Substack column this week:
“The Chelsea decision makers want someone ‘better’ than Nicolas Jackson, not someone to back him up. They want to improve on what they have and add serious competition.”
He goes on to mention Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap, Viktor Gyokeres, Hugo Ekitike, and Benjamin Sesko as the main targets for Chelsea up top this summer.
Time will tell if any of them could be ‘better’ than Jackson but they will all at least provide competition.
