Manchester United suffered a major injury blow during Sunday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have had a tough campaign due to form and injury concerns, and they may have sustained another untimely setback.

Lisandro Martinez went down on a 50/50 challenge with Ismaila Sarr. Slow-motion replays showed that his right knee may have buckled.

The Argentine star was taken off on a stretcher soon after, and this is a huge injury blow for the Red Devils for the back end of the current campaign.

However, we could see the Red Devils enter the market for a marquee left-footed centre-back before the deadline. It could depend on further medical examination of Martinez’s knee.

United have been inconsistent this season. They suffered their 11th defeat of the league season against Palace after a brace from Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The club have not won back-to-back league games this season, and their wait continues.
