FLW's Portsmouth fan pundit feels that the Eisner's are the group to take the club to the top-flight

Portsmouth owner Michael Eisner operates in a very different way to other owners, as he prioritises sustainably reaching goals, rather than seeing short-term success come through throwing money at the club.
In a 2022 interview, the 82-year-old told the BBC that "promotion will happen in a natural way and [we] will not be relegated when we get there. We weren't going to throw pounds against the wall, we were going to do it in a sustained way so we didn't become a yo-yo club in the future".
And, whilst it may have taken Portsmouth eight years under the current ownership to get into the Championship, it looks increasingly likely that Pompey are going to remain safe in their first season back in the second-tier despite having a neutral net-spend in the summer, and winning just one of their opening 14 games.
It would have been easy for the Eisners to panic and spend over the odds in the summer or sack John Mousinho during some bad form, but their patience has prevailed not only this season but during their entire ownership.
Because of this, FLW's Portsmouth fan pundit, Militos Ioannidis, feels that Premier League promotion could happen under the Eisners' ownership.
Speaking about whether he felt that the current ownership would be at Fratton Park for the long haul, Miltos told FLW: "I'm really content with the work they've done so far and I think that they are the owners to take the club forward.
"They don't see Pompey as just an easy way to make a profit. Their intentions were to take the club to the next level in a more sustainable manner, unlike some of the previous owners we've had, which I think is a good thing.
"You see clubs taken over by extremely rich organisations who invest immediately and the club's trajectory changes entirely over night. That will never happen under the Eisners and I have no problem with that.
"I think we can get promoted to the Premier League under them. I'm not sure about the timescale, but they have proven time and time again that they have their best interests in the club."
It's not just Militos who believes that the Eisner family will be around for the long haul, as Michael Eisner himself has stated that he has no interest in selling Portsmouth in his 2022 interview with the BBC.
The former Walt Disney chief executive said: "We will not be sellers in my lifetime [and] I have three sons that don't intend to be sellers either."
Obviously, things can change, but a clear statement of intent to be around whilst the club were constantly falling short of the League One play-offs can only be a positive, knowing how far the club has come in the two-and-a-half years since.
So, it seems like the good times are set to continue at Fratton Park, with the club now with one eye on improving in the summer ahead of a prospective second successive season in the Championship.
