Denzel Dumfries will be out for around three weeks, missing Inter Milan’s matches against Bayern Munich and AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri are increasingly sweating the Netherlands international’s fitness.
Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries is currently on the sidelines with a thigh injury. And a return does not look to be immediately in sight.
The former PSV wingback suffered the problem just before the international break. It forced him off in Inter’s Serie A clash with Atalanta before the break.
Prior to that, Dumfries had enjoyed a run as a virtual everpresent in the Nerazzurri starting eleven.

Denzel Dumfries pulled out of the Netherlands squad during the international break.
And it was always clear that the 28-year-old would need a few months to heal from his injury.
Inter gave their blessing to Dumfries to remain in Holland. He has been working with a physiotherapist who is not associated with either Inter or the Netherlands camp.
Dumfries places a strong trust in the opinion of his personal physiotherapist.
However, Inter are beginning to worry about the return timeline for Dumfries.
It always looked inevitable that Dumfries would miss a few matches after the international break ended.
Particularly considering the fact that Inter play twice per week until at least the end of April.
Therefore, Inter were not counting on Dumfries to be available for the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie against Bayern Munich next month.
However, it will not just be that match which Dumfries misses, reports the Gazzetta.
It still looks like it will be about twenty days or three weeks before the Dutchman can return to the pitch.
Therefore, Denzel Dumfries will miss the second leg of the tie against Bayern as well. And the second leg of Inter’s Coppa Italia semifinal against AC Milan.
In the meantime, report the Gazzetta, Inter want Dumfries back in Italy. They are hoping to monitor the 28-year-old’s condition more closely.
