Reading face a difficult challenge against league leaders Birmingham City this weekend.
The Royals have earned their place among the clubs chasing a play-off position in League One this year.
But Blues are the runaway leaders at the top of the division, sitting six points clear of Wycombe Wanderers and with two games in hand.
Meanwhile, Noel Hunt’s side are four points adrift of the top six, with 15 fixtures still to play before the end of the regular season.
When asked which player should Birmingham be wary of this weekend, FLW’s Reading fan pundit Johnny Hunt singled out Harvey Knibbs.
He believes that the 25-year-old brings out the best in the likes of Charlie Savage and Lewis Wing, and is a major attacking threat for the Royals at the moment.
“I think at the minute, we’re creating, working hard for each other, I think one stand out at the minute is Harvey Knibbs,” Hunt told Football League World.
“He’s scoring goals, he’s a threat, he’s at the top of his game.
“When he plays well, we play well.
“He just brings that energy and positivity to the team, and the work ethic as well.
“I think that kind of sums up the team, and he works so well with Charlie Savage, Lewis Wing.
“It’s an exciting team to watch, tough challenge against Birmingham, but I think they’ll be up for it to show what they can do on TV and I think Knibbs will be the main man.”
Reading will go into this weekend’s 12.30pm kick-off at home sitting ninth in the League One table.
Reading lost Sam Smith over the January window, which has hurt the team, but they were able to keep Tyler Bindon on loan after his sale to Nottingham Forest.
The winter market could have gone a lot worse for the club than that given the circumstances behind the scenes.
Hunt’s side can now attack the end of the season and push for a top-six finish, but this weekend’s clash with Birmingham will be a big test of their promotion credentials.
Chris Davies’ team are in great form and are comfortable at the top of the table, and a result this weekend against them would be a big statement to Reading’s top six rivals.
