Dender have been dealt a huge blow as it turns out Karol Fila will be out for the season. The 26-year-old, who joined on a free transfer in the summer from Strasbourg, has impressed since forcing his way into the first team. Fila was forced to leave the recent game against Club Brugge during the first half due to a knee injury that has now been deemed serious enough to keep him out for the rest of the campaign. The Polish defender had signed a one year deal with Dender, with an option for another year.
Fila began his career with Lechia Gdansk before he joined Strasbourg in 2021. He has already spent time in Belgium, joining Zulte Waregem for the second half of the 2022/2023 season. Fila never could break into the first team at Strasbourg, asking just 20 appearances for the Ligue 1 side. In comparison, he had made 102 appearances for Lechia before he left Poland for France. So far this season he had made five appearances for Dender, scoring once.
