Inter's lead in the Serie A title race was cut down to size after a late 1-0 defeat at Bologna.
Scorers: Orsolini 90+4'
The reigning champions headed to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara aiming to arrest their poor away record of just one victory from their previous six top flight outings.
But they were frustrated by the hosts, whose head coach Vincenzo Italiano was sent off alongside Inter's assistant Massimiliano Ferris following touchline fracas.
Simone Inzaghi's side were dealt a sucker punch deep in second half added time when Riccardo Orsolini snatched the spoils for the Rossoblù with a bicycle kick.
Inter are now only ahead of Napoli in the battle for the Scudetto on goal difference.
