Serhou Guirassy and Emre Can both return for Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night after missing Saturday’s win against Freiburg.
Guirassy (28), who is Dortmund’s top scorer this season with nine goals and four assists in 13 games across all competitions, picked up an infection while on international duty with Guinea and therefore didn’t feature in their 4-0 win over Freiburg.
Can (30), was also absent from that game following his red card against Mainz, is available for Wednesday’s game in Croatia.
Speaking on the inclusion of Guirassy in Borussia Dortmund’s matchday squad, sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: “We are happy that he is more of less healthy again. We will have to wait and see whether that will be enough for the starting eleven. Because of his presence, Serhou is someone you don’t want to do without.”
Borussia Dortmund find themselves in a good position after four Champions League games, sitting seventh with nine points in the newly revamped format.
