Barcelona star Eric García made his way firmly onto the transfer radar of German champions Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Eric’s name of course featured prominently in the Spanish media headlines throughout much of the winter transfer window to date.
This comes after the likes of Girona and Como expressed a keen interest in luring the out-of-favour defender away from Barcelona.
In the end, Eric was convinced by boss Hansi Flick to stay put for the remainder of the campaign, before reassessing his future in the summer.
And, as alluded to above, this came despite the interest of one of European football’s leading clubs, too.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Dortmund recently touched base over a January deal for Eric, but ‘the operation with the Germans never got off the ground’.
This came as Eric made crystal clear to BVB that he would either be staying put with Barcelona, or joining Girona.
