Defender not expected to rush into decision
Cedric Soares is attracting interest from Brazilian club Botafogo after leaving Arsenal.
The right-back’s contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June and he is currently weighing up his options.
Ajax are one of several Dutch clubs interested in Cedric, who is also on the radar of sides in Spain and Turkey.
Botafogo are the latest club to express an interest in the 32-year-old and they have already made contact with his representatives.
Cedric is not expected to rush into a decision, with the defender determined to make the right step at a key stage in his career.
“I want to make the right decision,” he told Canal 11 in Portugal recently. “Of course, I’ve been contacted and I’ve had a few offers.
“But it’s an important moment for me and my family, it’s a moment for me to make sure it’s the right project, that I get the playing time I need and above all that it will also make me happy.
“You have to be calm and make the right decision and that’s what I'm trying to do at the moment.
“I’ll be honest, I’m open to both options (Portugal or abroad), but it has to make sense for me and for the clubs.
