According to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Eli Junior Kroupi (18) is set to remain at FC Lorient after negotiations with Bournemouth have stalled. The Premier League side reportedly sent an offer of €12 million plus bonuses for the teenager.

The aim from Bournemouth was to buy the player with only a year and a half left on his contract before loaning him back to Lorient. However, negotiations over the final fee could not be agreed between the two teams who share the same owner; American businessman Bill Foley.

This hasn’t been the first time the two Foley clubs have dealt with each other, including the €20m move for winger Dango Ouattara in 2023, and most recently the transfer of Romain Faivre last summer (who is currently on loan at fellow Breton outfit Stade Brestois).

Lorient are currently sat top of Ligue 2 and are looking good for an instant return to the top flight after suffering relegation last season.
