This is according to L'Equipe, who have reported that the Clarets are just one of numerous European sides in the race for the French youth international.

Tchaouna, 21, only joined the Italian club back in the summer from Salernitana, paying €10m to lure him to the Stadio Olimpico.

He was fairly impressive last season, but since his move to Marco Baroni's side, he hasn't been able to make the same impact.

Spending a chunk of the season on the bench and even being sent off recently, the 21-year-old may benefit from making a fresh start elsewhere, though he has been able to appear in quite a few games for his current team this season.

He is of interest to the Clarets, who have made three signings already during this transfer window.

Oliver Sonne, ex-Norwich City man Ashley Barnes and former Nottingham Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey have all put pen to paper on permanent deals at Turf Moor, but they may still have some business to do in the coming hours before tonight's deadline.

Burnley among clubs interested in Loum Tchaouna

According to L'Équipe, the Clarets are one of a number of sides believed to be interested in a move for Tchaouna.

PSV, who are also interested in the player, is the player's preferred destination at this stage, with talks ongoing between the Italian outfit and the Dutch side regarding a loan move.

The two teams have been joined by Feyenoord and Bologna in the race, and with this in mind, it's unclear where his next destination will be.

But a move could be likely before the deadline tonight, considering the volume of interest in his signature.

Tchaouna is a talented young winger who will only get better.

At just 21, he has already performed well at the top level of Italian football, and that should mean that he can make a difference in the Championship.

With Mike Tresor linked with a move away during this window, along with Nathan Redmond, it probably makes sense for the Clarets to recruit Tchaouna.

However, there's a considerable number of teams interested in the Lazio man.
