Nicolas Kuhn was one of several players who did not travel to Tannadice yesterday afternoon. Rodgers kept his cards close to his chest by not revealing to the press on Friday afternoon that Kuhn would not feature in the City of Discovery.

Speaking in his post-match conference, Rodgers explained “he [Kuhn] hadn’t trained all week and then he was out on Friday. He was outside on the grass, but he just felt a little twinge yesterday in his knee, so we’re hoping that’s not going to be long-term.
“I’ll find out tomorrow, we’ll be in tomorrow, and I’ll see how he’s at. He’s running okay, he’s moving okay, just a slight twinge when he passed the ball with a slight pain, so we’re hoping that he’ll be okay for Thursday.”

Meanwhile, United States internationals Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty were also missing from both the starting XI and the Celtic substitutes bench yesterday lunchtime.

However, in his interview with Sky Sports prior to the match, the Celtic boss outlined the centre-back duo were missing through illness.
“Cam [Carter Vickers] and Auston [Trusty] have not been well in the week and haven’t picked up,” the Irishman said. “We’re hoping they’ll be okay for the next game, but today it was too much for them.”

Also, it was no surprise to see Alistair Johnston fail to make the matchday squad against Dundee United after the Canadian played through an injury in the Premier Sports League Cup final against theRangers last Sunday.
