Celtic welcome Bayern Munich to Glasgow this evening in the Champions League’s play-off round.
The Scottish champions are into the knockout stages for the first time in over a decade. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping his team can continue an impressive campaign with an upset of the German giants.
Celtic are unbeaten on home soil in Europe this season. The Bhoys won three of their four games at Parkhead in the league phase, including a 3-1 win over Bundesliga opposition in RB Leipzig.
Bayern, in contrast, have struggled on the road. Vincent Kompany’s men lost three times away from home in the league phase with defeats at Barcelona, Aston Villa and Feyenoord. However, the Bavarians have never lost to Celtic in four previous meetings.
Brendan Rodgers has a near clean bill of health in his Celtic squad heading into the clash. James Forrest is the only confirmed absentee for the Scottish side.
Daizen Maeda, who scored a hat-trick in the weekend win at Raith Rovers, is available for selection. Celtic successfully appealed to reduce the Japan international’s two-game ban for his red card against Young Boys on matchday seven.
Celtic predicted XI: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; Engels, McGregor, Hatate; Maeda, Idah, Kuhn.
Celtic host Bayern Munich in the Champions League’s play-off round on Wednesday February 12th 2025. Kick-off at Celtic Park is 20:00 GMT.
Celtic vs Bayern Munich will be available to watch on TNT Sports 2 and Discovery+.
