Cercle Brugge have announced that Ferdinand Feldhofer is the sides new head coach. The Austrian takes over from fellow countryman Miron Muslic, who was sacked last week after losing 3-2 to Beerschot. The former Wolfsberger AC head coach has been given a contract until the end of the season, with an option for an extra year. It is likely that this will be dependent on whether or not he can keep the side in the top flight.
Despite leading the side into European football last season, poor form in the Pro League meant that the side parted ways with Muslic. This was a move that most fans were disappointed with, as they felt that given more time and a January transfer window that Muslic would have turned things around. The side have kept with a similar profile, with a head coach that likes to press.
Feldhofer made his name during his time at Woflsberger, leading that side into Europe and a successful campaign. He has since had spells at Rapid Wien and Dinamo Tbilisi. Feldhofer left Tbilisi to join Cercle, leaving the side in seventh place in the Georgian league.
