Como manager Cesc Fabregas has insisted there is no truth to rumours linking his side with a move for Barcelona winger Ansu Fati this month.
Fati is expected to leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes after falling out of favour under Hansi Flick, who has left the winger out of his last four matchday squads.
Como, led by former Barcelona midfielder Fabregas, were named as suitors for the 22-year-old, but the Serie A side are seemingly no longer keen after making an initial enquiry during the summer window.
"There are some lads who will leave and they already know that, but we will bring others in," Fabregas said. "We are not planning to sign a striker.
"I asked about Ansu Fati six months ago, but there's nothing now."
Finding a club willing to pay Fati's reported £200,000-a-week wages is likely to be impossible for Barcelona, who have accepted they are likely to have to contribute in order to facilitate a loan exit before February.
Both West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked, while there has been reports of interest from Real Betis, although the La Liga side are likely to abandon their pursuit as they close in on Antony from Manchester United.
Fati spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion but failed to establish himself as a regular under the management of Roberto De Zerbi.
