The Addicks confirmed the news via a post on their official club X account this morning.
The 28-year-old midfielder has not featured in the Charlton Athletic matchday squad since October 2024. The player was initially sidelined with a minor knee injury that required surgery. Humphrey has since fallen pregnant and has therefore had to put her playing career on hold. Humphrey is due to give birth in October 2025 therefore she will definitely miss the first half of the 2025/2026 season.
The midfielder is in her second season as a Charlton Athletic player after joining the club from Liverpool in summer 2023. Humphrey has made 26 appearances for The Addicks in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she has scored two goals. Humphrey was voted Charlton Athletic’s Player of the Season in 2023/2024 as the club narrowly missed out on promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League.
It is understood that Humphrey is already contracted to Charlton Athletic for next season with the player having signed a new two-year deal last summer.
