According to Sky Sport Italia, Paulo Fonseca’s deal with Milan included a clause allowing the club to terminate the contract in June 2025 if the coach was sacked in the first six months of his tenure.
Milan won’t need to pay their departing coach, Fonseca, until the end of his contract in 2027, as a clause in the deal with the Portuguese allows the club to terminate the contract at the end of the season.

Last summer, Fonseca signed a two-year contract with an option until 2027. However, as reported by Sky Sport, the agreement included a clause allowing the club to pay the coach only until the end of the current campaign if he was sacked within the first six months of his tenure.
Fonseca confirmed Milan had sacked him last night after a 1-1 draw against Roma.
Club directors informed the coach about their decision after his round of post-match interviews and a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia.
Milan are set to appoint Segio Conceiçao as their new coach. Fonseca’s compatriot is expected in Milan today.
