Samuel Chukwueze has struggled for minutes since moving to AC Milan, and now he could be offered a way out by his former head coach at Aston Villa.
It has not gone how many would have probably expected for Chukwueze. The Nigerian winger arrived in the 2023 summer mercato, and despite being held in a high regard upon arrival, he did not get the minutes many expected.
This was due to the incredible level of output from Christian Pulisic, who many thought was going to be a bit-part member of the squad, given the level of potential that Chukwueze was supposed to have.
Since then, opportunities for the 25-year-old have been hard to come by, and when they have arrived, they have often not been taken. Contributions have come, yes, but they have not come at a rate that would displace Pulisic.
As a result, an exit is possible, and a few weeks ago it was reported that Aston Villa were interested in the winger, with the club considering a swap deal involving Jaden Philogene.
Despite the Villa winger reportedly being in the final stages of moving to Ipswich, the Villains’ interest is still present for Chukwueze, with Unai Emery interested in a reunion, as Calciomercato.com report (via Football Italia).
