AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani plans to use Sunday’s game against Atalanta as a chance to speak with Tony D’Amico, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com report that Furlani has not made his choice yet regarding the new sporting director. After the meeting that took place on Tuesday in Rome with Igli Tare, on Sunday at San Siro the big match against Atalanta could be the right time to speak with D’Amico.
Tare is free from any contract and therefore could sign with Milan immediately. The meeting earlier in the week lasted more than two hours and, among the many topics discussed, they spoke about three coaches: Massimiliano Allegri, Vincenzo Italiano and Cesc Fabregas in that order.
At the end of the meeting, however, the handshake did not end – metaphorically speaking – with a ‘see you in Milan’ but rather with one of the more classic ‘we’ll let you know’ that left every possibility open.
It is no secret that Furlani holds D’amico in great esteem, the current sporting director of Atalanta with whom he has a long contract. The ex-Verona man is admired because he can work as part of a group and he finds young talents, but first of all it would be necessary to convince Percassi to let him go.
This is why the match scheduled for Easter Sunday could be the right opportunity to meet everyone face to face, before the match, to talk about the future. Relations between the clubs are excellent as the Charles De Ketelaere operation show, and that is why nothing can be ruled out.
