A fresh twist in the future of on-loan Barcelona star Vitor Roque has on Thursday been noted online.
This comes amid the understanding that the Brazilian is increasingly unlikely to stay put at Real Betis beyond the coming summer.
Frontman Roque of course linked up with Betis on loan over the summer, following a hugely challenging first half-season with Barcelona.
The move came under the assumption that the brass at the brass at the Benito Villamarín Stadium had every intention of activating their buy option in the summer. To the point that their Barca counterparts were already making plans for the much-needed cash injection.
Joan Laporta and co, in turn, will no doubt be altogether concerned by the latest word stemming from the media.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Real Betis’ winter deal for Cucho Hernández has thrown Roque’s future into serious doubt:
‘The signing of Cucho leaves the continuity of Vitor Roque very much up in the air, for whom Betis is unlikely to exercise the purchase option agreed with FC Barcelona this summer.’
Roque could yet stay put on loan with Manuel Pellegrini’s Verdiblancos for a 2nd season, but his long-term future looks increasingly likely to lie away from Seville.
