Real Madrid have officially named their squad for Tuesday’s match against Arsenal, with Thibaut Courtois returning after missing their last couple of games through injury.
There had been some doubt about both of Carlo Ancelotti’s favoured goalkeepers, with Andriy Lunin also missing last weekend’s match through injury. Lunin is out of the Arsenal game, but first-choice keeper Courtois is back.
Reports had suggested that Ferland Mendy could be set for an absence through injury, and that has now been confirmed by Real’s squad announcement.

The other four absentees are less surprising, with former Gunner Dani Ceballos, Eder Militao, and Dani Carvajal never likely to be fit in time, and Aurelien Tchouameni suspended.
Tchouameni is banned due to an accumulation of yellow cards in the previous rounds of competition, but he’ll return in the second leg.
As for the four players who were at risk of a suspension against Arsenal, none of them received any more than fines and deferred suspensions, which will only become active if they repeat their offences again in the future.
Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior will all be available, and Ceballos also avoided a ban – though he’s out anyway through injury.

Arsenal are no strangers to injury absences in recent months, and the Gunners are expected to be without Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Riccardo Calafiori for Tuesday’s match.
Other than Calafiori, all of the players listed are out for the season. The Italian international is the only one with any small chance of playing in the second leg of the Real Madrid tie.
