Tijjani Reijnders is now AC Milan’s joint-top scorer alongside Christian Pulisic, and the eyes of top European clubs are on him.
As Corriere della Sera (via MilanPress) reports, Reijnders has played 22 out of 23 games available so far and is a key figure in Paulo Fonseca’s team, having netted eight goals from a midfield position.
Even though he had a good debut campaign after arriving in summer 2023, the Dutchman has taken his game to the next level by adding consistent end product to his game.
All this has also allowed his market value to grow. Compared to the €20m invested by the Rossoneri directors around 16 months ago to get him from AZ Alkmaar, today he is worth at least €50m.
The club have worked in advance on his contract renewal, with an agreement already reached to extend his deal to 2030. His salary will move from €1.7m to at least €3m plus bonuses.
However, in the background some teams are looking at him in view of next summer. Manchester City has shown interest and Barcelona have been admirers since summer 2023.
Even though publicly Reijnders continues to profess his love for Milan and commitment, without Champions League football it will not be easy to resist the advances.
