Crystal Palace could be in the market to sign a new centre-forward this summer with Jean-Philippe Mateta linked with a big-money move away from Selhurst Park. The Premier League side could turn to his compatriot, Alassane Pléa (32), in the event that he does leave, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Even in the event that Mateta leaves, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Pléa, who has an exit clause included in his contract at Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer. The former OGC Nice forward has recently had an uptick in form and now has 17 goal contributions (11 goals, six assists) in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.

His performances have caught the eye of Crystal Palace but also of numerous other sides across Europe. Clubs in Ligue 1 and the Saudi Pro League are showing an interest in Pléa, whilst Besiktas are also considering a move for the Frenchman.
