Manchester United are optimistic that academy midfielder Dan Gore will be able to continue his loan spell at Rotherham United later this month.
The 20 year old joined The Millers at the end of January but was only able to play one match, when he got an assist.
It was then announced that Gore would be out for a few weeks with a foot injury, much to the surprise of the Rotherham manager Steve Evans who was left “perplexed” by the youngster picking up the problem in a light training session.
A few weeks ago, it was then reported that Gore had returned to Carrington to continue his rehabilitation.
Gore has since stated in an interview that he is “absolutely gutted” by the injury that has massively affected his loan spell at the club.
There has been a majorly positive update on the player’s health, however.
According to the Rotherham Advertiser, the League One side’s manager claimed that Man United have told him that the player will be back in a couple of weeks or so.
Evans claimed that “Manchester United are saying the third week in March.”
“Manchester United’s words to us were that they will have a very clear picture then.”
“Our medical staff are in regular contact with their counterparts at Manchester United. They speak every couple of days. I speak to the coaches there, too, because I know them.”
The youngster will be desperate to get back onto the pitch and get some minutes under his belt after a horrendous year with injury concerns.
At Port Vale last year he picked up an injury right at the start of his loan spell and would end up playing just 54 minutes during his entire time at the club.
The 20 year old will be champing at the bit to get some serious minutes logged in senior football as Rotherham still have 12 matches to play in League One.
