Real Madrid were devastated in October by confirmation that Dani Carvajal had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, meaning that he is out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. It is terrible news for Los Blancos, although they have coped relatively well with Lucas Vazquez in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, those at Real Madrid will be counting down the days for Carvajal’s return. As per Esquire (via Marca), he provided an update on his recovery.
“Now I practically walk without crutches, I can already do gym, bicycle, I am gaining degrees in flexion… They are short objectives, but I am fulfilling them. I’m happy. This has to be considered as something long-term,” acknowledges the footballer who, despite the seriousness of the injury, remains positive: Maybe this can extend my career for several years…”
Carvajal also revealed that he received a special message of support from Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone, whom the Real Madrid stalwart has a lot of admiration for.
“It was from Cholo Simeone. A person who loves football and whom I admire a lot, apart from the rivalry, obviously. I think we share the vision of seeing this sport with a lot of emotion and I remember that message as a special moment.”
