Dayot Upamecano’s (26) period of absence for Bayern Munich has been revealed. The Frenchman is expected to miss around five to six weeks of competition, according to Le Parisien.

The centre-back played the whole 120 minutes as France overcame Croatia in the quarter-final of the UEFA Nations League at the Stade de France on Sunday night. He even netted the winning spot-kick to seal France’s progression to the final four, which will take place in the summer.

However, upon his return from international duty, it was revealed that he is set for a period on the sidelines. Bayern Munich have confirmed that the centre-back has loose joints in his left knee, which will require treatment and a period of recovery. The Bavarian side evoked an absence of “several weeks”.

However, Le Parisien have now put a more specific timeline on his return. The publication understands that he will miss five or six weeks, meaning that Upamecano will not feature in the quarter-finals or semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. He would, however, be available for the final at the Allianz Arena, should Bayern Munich make it there.
