According to a report from Foot Mercato, Stade Rennais are looking at bringing Los Angeles FC’s Denis Bouanga (30) back to France. The striker who moved to the MLS club in 2022 from AS Saint-Étienne has often been linked with a return to his home country.

Last winter there were reports connecting Olympique de Marseille with a move for the striker, while Rennes and RC Lens had been rumoured to be interested over the summer although they were reportedly put off by his €2 million salary and high transfer fee.

Foot Mercato writes that this is no longer an issue for Rennes who have in this transfer window spent heavily on transfers and salaries for players in their thirties (Seko Fofana and Brice Samba) as they look to try and rapidly turn their season around. Bounaga’s transfer fee is reported to be around €10 million.

Italian clubs looking at Denis Bouanga

Bouanga is thought to be very interested in joining Rennes and rejected a move to the Mexican side Tigres UANL. However, the French outlet notes that Italian sides are also looking at the striker.
