The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have kicked into gear negotiations with head coach Hansi Flick, over the terms of a new contract.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

German tactician Flick is of course in the midst of what has been an impressive debut campaign on Barcelona’s bench to date.

The former Bayern Munich headmaster has guided Barcelona to glory in the Spanish Super Cup, whilst still being alive and well in the race for all of La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and Champions League.

The Blaugrana did endure one particularly underwhelming run of results late last year, but the general consensus is that Flick has done an excellent job thus far.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then those in the boardroom at the Camp Nou evidently share such an opinion.

As per a report from Sport:

‘A meeting took place on Tuesday between the club’s directors and the agent, Pini Zahavi, in charge of managing Hansi Flick’s career. The meeting served as a starting signal for talks to renew Flick’s contract.’

Joan Laporta and co, it is added, are hopeful of securing a renewal agreement with the club’s headmaster before the season comes to a close.
