Youssoufa Moukoko (19) signed a Borussia Dortmund contract extension in January 2023, in which the Germany international received a signing fee which has since been transferred to his salary.
As reported by Sport Bild, Moukoko now receives up to €8.5m per season, more than Niclas Füllkrug (€8m). With five goals in 20 Bundesliga games, that works out at around €1.7m per goal, while Füllkrug scored 12 and created eight in 29 league games for Die Schwarzgelben last season.
With the arrival of Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart and both Sébastien Haller and Füllkrug at the club, that leaves Nuri Şahin with four strikers, which means playing time could be even harder to find for Moukoko.
It’s possible though that Haller could leave the Signal Iduna Park this summer. The Ivorian, who played just 524 minutes (three goals and one assist) across all competitions for Dortmund last season, either missed a large chunk of football due to an ankle injury, or fell behind Füllkrug in the pecking order.
There’s also a possibility that Moukoko could leave on loan, with the feeder club paying a percentage of the attacker’s salary.
