Diego Maradona's place in the hearts of Argentinians is more secure than perhaps that of any footballer in history, and now his fans can celebrate his life and legacy even more with a public mausoleum coming to Buenos Aires in 2025.
El Diego will be present in hologram form (think Tupac at Coachella several years ago), and fans will be able to walk through parts of his life, from his childhood living room to the dressing room of Argentina's 1986 World-Cup winners.
It was at that World Cup where Maradona's incredible star shone brightest, as he carried his nation to a second title, and confirmed himself as the best player in the world at the time, and in the eyes of some, of all time.
Murals of Maradona are hugely common, with Naples having a near-shrine to their greatest ever player, as well as a stadium named in his honour following his death in 2020, but the new year could see the best tribute yet!
