Three Bayern Munich players were selected and nominated by Electronic Arts for a possible spot in the EA Sports FC 25 Team of the Year on Monday. The three nominees were--unsurprisingly, I may add--Harry Kane for an attacking position, Jamal Musiala for his midfield play, and Joshua Kimmich on the defensive side.
Although these three studs have put up some fantastic numbers akin to their respective positions, they face some serious competition in the way of other massive names that play the beautiful game. Which of these three can ultimately make it in the team come the end of voting? Let us look back at their performances and see if they have a chance to make the final list.
Here we are again, talking about Harry Kane and his incredulous importance to this team and how much he does to make Bayern Munich tick in a very positive direction. His numbers in 2024 speak for themselves do they not: 39 goals across all competitions, including domestically in the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, and German Supercup, for Bayern in the Champions League, and for his country of England.
The English forward came ahead of Erling Haaland by a goal and came short of equalling Robert Lewandowski by the same margin. In 2024, he became the quickest player to achieve 50 goals in the Bundesliga ever in a short 43-game span, and he shattered the record for fastest player ever to 6 hattricks in the Bundesliga.
Very much so in his prime, he even had to miss a few games due to injury and still was able to crack into the top 3 goalscorers of the year. FC Bayern Munich, unfortunately, didn't win any trophies in the 2024 calendar year, which may bring his likelihood of making the final cut down some. Regardless of this fact, it is hard to deny that he has been one of the shining stars in world football over the last year and at least deserves the respect of being considered.
