Eddie Howe is back at the helm for Newcastle after recovering from pneumonia.

He’s been out for the last three games after ending up in hospital a couple of weeks ago. While he was away, assistant manager Jason Tindall and coach Graeme Jones were running things on the sidelines.

But now Howe’s feeling better and has returned to training ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Ipswich. There’s a good chance he’ll be back in the dugout at St James’ Park on Saturday.

The team’s had mixed results without him - they comfortably beat both United and Palace under Tindall’s watch but took a bit of a hammering from Villa.

Fresh off winning the Carabao Cup, the Magpies are looking to get back on track in their bid for a Champions League spot when they take on struggling Ipswich.

With the top five now qualifying for Europe’s top competition next season, there’s still loads to play for. Liverpool are close to sealing the title, Arsenal are likely to come second, but there’s only four points separating third-place Man City from seventh-place Villa, so it’s all still up for grabs.
