Eintracht confirm Omar Maroush transfer talks with Man City

Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed they are in talks with Manchester City over the transfer of Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush is currently the preferred January target for Pep Guardiola's side as they aim to arrest a slump that leaves them 12 points off the Premier League's summit.

As a result of the negotiations between the clubs, the Egypt international has been stood down for Friday's Bundesliga encounter with Borussia Dortmund.

"Eintracht Frankfurt is currently in talks with another club regarding a transfer of Omar Marmoush," read a club statement.

"Therefore, the player is not part of the squad today."

Marmoush has been one of the Bundesliga's standout players this season with 20 goals in 26 outings.
